Biography : Emil Alexander Cherrington's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Loyola College in Maryland, with research emphasis in plant ecology. His post-baccalaureate experience includes a 2001 graduate research assistantship at the University of Georgia's Savannah River Ecology Laboratory. As a 2002-04 Organization of American States Fellow at the University of Washington, Emil received a Master of Science degree in natural
resource management, his research focusing on the ongoing Belize Debt-for-Nature Swap. Having worked intensely on the continuing development of Belize's national spatial data infrastructure, Emil has recently joined the Water Center of the Humid Tropics of Latin America & the Caribbean (CATHALAC), a UNESCO Center of Excellence and the regional node of the acclaimed USAID-/ World Bank-funded SERVIR project with NASA and CCAD.
